Beautiful room and ensuite. Fabulous location and car park right at the front door. Full english breakfast was great - serve until 10am which allows for a sleep in. Hotel with family run feel, and immaculate facilities. Cleanest hotel l have stayed in, in the UK.
The dining room lacked the luster of the other rooms in the hotel.
very freindly staff and great landlord/owner
Hotel is spotless, very friendly staff good position.
The bed creaked every time you moved an inch |!!!
We went to the vernon hotel to have a rest as we are both O.a p'S. We found the hotel very clean, our room was perfect comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast. .We were so very centrel to beach, shops, and entertainment.the 24 hour parking was un -expected. Most of all I think we enjoyed our stay because of the friendlinest we recieved from joe and jude. We would most certainly return again.,
First class hotel the best i have used in Eastbourne
Friendly, very clean, nice rooms, modern en suite, seafront 100 yards away, restaurants, pubs nearby, town centre 5 minutes, parking just outside
We only stayed for 1 night but were made to feel very welcome. The bed was very comfortable with crisp white sheets and clean pillows!!!
The exterior is pretty shabby and we thought we had made a mistake booking this hotel but once inside it was immaculate!
Understanding staff nice familt atmosphere
Friendly and welcoming staff.
Breakfast a little disappointing as I requested egg and bacon; instead of full english, but only got 1 rasher of bacon! My husband had full english and was very satified with his choice.
Myself and my husband stayed here in June. We found the Manager/Owner to be very helpful and friendly. The Hotel location is great and our room was lovely.
The bar was downstairs and quite dark and not very inviting for certainly more mature guests. While the breakfast was nice, there were a lot of dog hairs under the tables in the dining room.. We are both dog lovers but I dont think this is acceptable in a dining room of any hotel... We also had to pay for our room in full when we checked in - though the Manager told us we could look at the room beforehand to ensure that it was ok.
The Vernon House is a family-run business, and they really made us feel like family while we were there. They were very warm and were prepared to do whatever they could to make our stay comfortable. The rooms were extremely clean and my bed was marvelously firm--no sagging, no lumps, no creaking! Also, the location is perfect for getting to restaurants and for walking along the pier. I will absolutely stay at the Vernon House next time I'm in Eastbourne.
Mints on towels.
Retro. And not in a good way. Poorly cut Lino on the bathroom floor. No hot water or water pressure in the shower in the mornings. Really creaky floors and bed. No Soundproofing between rooms, standard domestic internal doors with numberous locks fitted then removed used as the room door. Bar downstairs was ridiculously noisey. We were on the top floor and all we could hear were people chatting and talking till midnight. Hotel specifies strictly no pets, yet on 3 occasions we found a small black dog outside our room. Definitely not a hotel for the young, or young at heart.
I requested to have a room on the ground floor, even though we booked the day before, and the hotel was fully booked at that time, on arriving at the hotel, it was arranged a very nice room at the ground floor, and this is what I call service.
The manager gave a very warm welcome and was very hospitable
Food was poor
Extremely freindly and helpfull owner/manager. Could not do enough to make the stay more peasureable. Would highly recomend.
